One-day location shoot
The production team spent the day at the Pavilion filming one half of an episode of I Can Do It, You Can Too. They used the stage, auditorium and Pavilion lighting to create the colourful Grapevine Dance segment with the presenter and young contributors.
The gold curtain and saturated stage lighting supplied a strong visual background, while the open auditorium gave the crew practical positions for the main camera, monitors and supporting equipment. The team could move between wide views, presenter shots and closer performance angles while retaining the theatre's character.
The finished story appears in Series 2, Episode 18, Grapevine Dance and Tag Rugby. The visit shows how the Pavilion can move from live performance venue to compact television location, with distinctive scenery and production space together under one roof.
