Gorleston seafront is now part of a major free public Wi‑Fi rollout, thanks to a £190,000 investment from the Government’s Town Deal fund.
The new network covers Marine Parade, the boating lake, and key parts of the seafront, with King Street due to follow soon. It means visitors, locals, and businesses can now stay connected while enjoying everything the area has to offer, from beach days to bandstand events.
We’re proud to have supported the project, with the Pavilion acting as a key infrastructure point for the Gorleston stretch. It’s a simple but powerful upgrade that helps make our town more accessible, welcoming, and future-ready.
"This is exactly the kind of quiet, behind-the-scenes improvement that makes a big difference," said Alex Youngs, Chief Executive of the Gorleston Pavilion Trust. "It’s about making the town more accessible, more connected and a little bit easier to enjoy for everyone."
The Wi‑Fi forms part of a wider scheme also covering Great Yarmouth town centre and seafront. Great Yarmouth Borough Council will also use anonymous data from the network to better understand footfall and help shape public space planning.
We're a small team doing big things. With your help, we can do even more. ›
