Local Students Design Plant Pots for Bee Haven

Winning students with Alex, Grace and Jamie from the Pavilion, Gro Plants and Gorleston Apiary

We teamed up with Gro Plants (Bells Road) and Gorleston Apiary to run a competition with local primary school students for them to design their own plant pot to feature in our rooftop apiary.

Hundreds of students took part in the competition with just 6 winners being chosen by Alex from the Pavilion, Grace from Gro Plants and Jamie from Gorleston Apiary. Those winners went on to workshop their ideas onto real plant pots to take home as a souvenir, along with some free Pavilion honey.

Grace from Gro Plants then got to work creating full size plant pots using the winning designs and these have now been delivered to the Pavilion to sit in the apiary, which the public can see via a live webcam 24/7 at pavtheatre.com/bees.

Over time the apiary will be filled with more plants to provide the bees with nutrition and to keep the webcam looking colourful!
