Unearthing the Groove! The Gray Project bring ‘forgotten funk’ to the Pavilion
Theatre, Gorleston.
The Gray Project is a powerhouse nine-piece, jazz funk soul band.
Not a tribute band, but a celebration of 'horn-heavy forgotten funk, lost' and lesser-
known grooves - showcasing tight arrangements, and exceptional musicianship and
featuring the soulful vocals of Miss Tia Dartnell.
TGP pay homage to the classic era of jazz, funk & soul, heavily inspired by musical
icons such as the Average White Band, Kokomo, and Tower of Power.
Respected broadcaster and music journalist Stephen ‘Foz’ Foster, describes their
show as, ‘amazing musicianship, impeccable choice of material and dance
grooves to get everyone on their feet!’
Audiences can expect brilliantly reimagined renditions of rare tunes like Curtis
Mayfield’s Freddie's Dead and Quincy Jones’ Stuff Like That.
Be prepared for a high energy evening of fabulous musicianship and soulful
commitment!
